Barron ACT Flash Cards 410 Flash Cards to Help You Achieve a Higher Score James D Giovannini Patsy J Prince MEd 9780764167683 Books Reviews

  • As a Junior who recently took the ACT for the first time 3 weeks ago, I deeply regret not buying this product sooner. I have purchased two books on the ACT that gives you walkthroughs and real practice test, but they don't compare to these cards.

The cards first give you strategies in each category before you start the practice questions. They explain the correct answers and the wrong answers; this really helpful. There are 410 cards inside the box. The box includes a ring to put the cards on- the cards are whole punched in the bottom left corner. The box containing the cards is light weight and easy to travel. They separate the the subjects from one another. The order is the way you are tested on the ACT English, Math, Reading, Science, and Writing (optional). English 175 cards total, 25 strategy, 150 questions. Math 150 total, 40 strategy, 110 questions. Reading 25 total, all strategy. Science 50 total, 20 strategy, 15 definition, 15 questions. Writing 10 total, all strategy.

I definitely would recommend this product to any student.
  • We paid $600 for an ACT prep class and my daughter said she learned more from these flash cards than she did from the class. The flash cards have some really good tips. It also has questions you would see on the ACT and on the backside it explains the correct answer. I love the way it is organized too which is by category. So if you just need to prep for English, you can just pull the English section out. All of the cards have a hole in them at the top and a binder ring is included so you can easily flip through them without worrying about losing one.
  • I'm a teacher and ordered these flashcards for my students to prepare for ACT. I love the test-taking tips and questions with answer explanations on the back. It's a quick and easy way to get kids involved with test prep. Kids have been eager to use these cards as a solo practice or in partners where they can quiz each other and discuss answers. The only criticism is of the actual cards and ring. The ring does not hold all of the cards, it's barely big enough to hold the Reading and English sections together. Plus, the cards don't fit back into the box once they are on the ring. If I were to design this set, I would provide two rings for Reading/English and Math/Science and make the box wider so it will close while the cards are on the ring. Other than that I think these cards are a great value for what you're getting.
  • Does not contain directions and strategies for the new writing prompt.
    Great for English and Math
Vague and general for Reading and Science
  • We got these to go along with ACT Prep Plus 2018 5 Practice Tests + Proven Strategies + Online (Kaplan Test Prep) to help our daughter improve her ACT score. She had previously take a Prep class, that didn't help improve her score at all.
These cards and the book helped her focus on the sections she was weak on and her score improved by 5 points.
  • My daughter loves these cards much more than the books. It gives her more sense of accomplishment. Let's hope they will indeed improve her score.
  • Very helpful in conjunction with the book which includes three practice tests. This is all you need.
  • The content of the cards is good. Short study points. Easy to use. The down side is it only comes with one ring and you will not get all the cards on the ring. Barley one section. It does not fit into the box with the ring in place. It could have been designed better for storage purposes.
